★ Must-know
📌 System software manages and controls computer hardware and resources so that other software can run, whereas application software helps users perform specific tasks such as writing, browsing, editing, and gaming.
Further detail
System software runs the computer; application software runs on it.
★ Must-know
📌 Each layer of the software stack depends on the layer beneath it, so application software depends on system software and system software depends on hardware.
